What does that CTC actually pay per month?

An offer of ₹12 LPA does not put ₹1,00,000 in your account. Deductions, and the part of the package that is not cash, come out first. Put your offer in and see the difference.

In lakhs per annum (LPA). Enter 12 for ₹12,00,000.
In lakhs. Take this from the offer letter; recruiters often quote it inside CTC.
In lakhs. Usually 12% of basic. Counted in CTC but never paid to you as cash.
In lakhs. Also not monthly cash.
In lakhs. A rough figure is fine — this tool does not compute your tax, and it should not pretend to.
Estimated monthly in-hand
per month
Total CTC
Less: variable & bonuses
Less: employer PF
Less: gratuity & insurance
Less: your own PF contribution
Less: estimated tax
Annual in-hand

An estimate, not a payslip. Your actual figure depends on your salary structure, your tax regime and your deductions.

Why the gap surprises people. A recruiter quotes CTC because it is the largest true number. Variable pay is paid on performance and often annually; employer PF and gratuity are real money, but they are not money you can spend this month. Ask for the fixed monthly gross in writing — that is the number your rent comes out of.
