The aptitude round, and why most of a batch is filtered here
Quantitative, logical reasoning and verbal, at a pace that assumes you already know the shortcuts. It is first in almost every drive because it is the cheapest way to reduce a thousand applicants to two hundred.
Thirty to sixty questions in twenty to forty minutes, split into sections with their own timers. Negative marking is common, sectional cut-offs are normal, and a strong section usually cannot rescue a failed one.
How to prepare, in this order
The order matters more than the hours.
Learn the eleven recurring question types before drilling volume — speed comes from recognition, not from arithmetic
Practise against a clock from the first day. Untimed aptitude practice teaches a habit you cannot use
Work out where your accuracy collapses under time, which is usually one or two topics, not all of them
Only then do volume, and only on the topics that are actually costing you marks
